I figured it would take a couple of months for people to see it start hitting their wallets. Their greed has cost me about $3000 in the last two months. Been working on moving everything over to Zazzle since. The ones who aren't completely leaving cafepress are removing their products from the marketplace. So, their site is going to look very bad. I wonder if they got sued or if they mismanaged the success of the 08 elections because they should have gone the other route with Zazzle on their heels. I worked for 2 years on my cafepress shop and it was beginning to make me a solid paycheck, so much for that time wasted. We should be able to sue cafepress. I don't think a company should be able to ask someone to invest their time based on broken promises and lies. I didn't sign up for a cafepress that would completely screw me once I did my part of the job. Class action anyone?

Re: Cafe Press Fail

Hi Stephanie,

I just stumbled upon this thread and wanted to thank you for the plug re: Threadsmith. Yes, I heard that Mike from Shopping-Bargains.com was happy with our service & product quality. Glad to hear he's spreading the word.

We don't currently offer self-service storefront creation, but if you or folks you know are interested in setting up a storefront with us, you can give me a call directly at 607-341-7594. We welcome storefront owners and are also looking for artists to design clip art and templates for us. We pay a nice commission on the orders generated.

Again - thanks for the plug.

For most shopkeepers, this is equivalent to a 50-80% paycut. Affiliates make 15%. Will Cafepress be able to survive the defection of its most talented shopkeepers? Undoubtedly, the answer is "yes"--and that's unfortunate.

Re: Cafe Press Fail

Right on! Keep on blogging about this one! I especially appreciate the suggestions on things to do. We're all trying to figure out what to do about that now. I ahve a blog post on this topic, too at http://healingcommunication.bl... .

Cafepress? No More!!!!

Re: Cafe Press Fail

Great I added Threadsmith to the list of alternatives. Wow I can't believe they dropped coupon sites. These people are ridiculous and in the end it is going to catch up with them; they are going to lose a lot of business.

Re: Cafe Press Fail

I've been dissapointed with CafePress as well. They dropped "coupon sites" several months ago which I found frustrating. I've not bought from them since then but I have bought from Threadsmith several times including a big order last week.

Re: Cafe Press Fail

Since so many people are affected I hope they reconsider what they are doing...

Re: Cafe Press Fail

I'm with you. I Googled "Cafe Press Outrage" to see if other people were as offended as I was. I wrote to them telling them that I am taking my CafePress shop down (and I am). It absolutely abusive and unfair.

First they cut the bonus plan which caused me to have to raise my commissions and now they are going to meddle with my business and pick my pocket again?

So long Cafepress. I hope this gross miscalculation costs you big time.

Re: Cafe Press Fail

.
Cafepress has made a huge miscalculation! Their marketplace will see far fewer quality designs once all the outraged shopkeepers have defected to Zazzle, thus decreasing cafepress sales and decreasing buyer satisfaction.

I hope there is enough backlash from this that they change their minds. It is an awful business decision. They must be reading eBay's playbook.

Thanks for your post. Love that Zazzle made the Welcome t-shirt so quickly.
